Other Experiments
Although freezing, high altitude, and experiments on twins were the most common, many other tests took place. Some of these were even more painful than the more common experiments.
Transplantation was another experiment that was done very often. To see if a limb or joint from one person could be attached to another person, inmates' limbs were removed and placed on others. They also had nerves, bones, and muscles removed to experiment with regeneration.

Experiments with poison were used to determine the quickest execution method. The victims were either (1.) given cyanide or phenol injections, (2.) ate food with poison in it, or (3.) shot with poison bullets. Most of the victims died, but those who did not were executed for autopsies.
